The North Mesquite Stallions won the last time they faced the Conrad Chargers, and things went their way on Friday too. North Mesquite took down the Chargers 64-47.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Mesquite to victory, but perhaps none more so than Christian Brooks, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Brooks has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Vaughn, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacoby July, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brian Singleton, who scored 15 points.
North Mesquite has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. As for Conrad, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-14 record this season.
North Mesquite will head out on the road to square off against the Wranglers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Mesquite is on a three-game streak of home wins, the Stallions a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Conrad will take on the Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Poteet presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Chargers in Texas (the Pirates are ranked 339th, while the Chargers are ranked 882nd).
