Soccer Recap: Woodruff's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Woodruff's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Laurens Raiders 7-0. The result was nothing new for Woodruff, who have now won five matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Laurens from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Raegan Putnam led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Woodruff moved to 5-8 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Laurens, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Woodruff will head out to square off against Broome at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodruff will be up against Broome's rather soft defense (which has allowed three goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Laurens, they will welcome Wren at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wren will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Laurens surely won't give up without a fight.
