PALM BAY, Fla. - the Golden Eagles had a big 28-point second quarter on Saturday, sealing a 49-7 victory over Bayside (Palm Bay, Fla.).
Naples scored on a
Garrett Zech touchdown run, a defensive touchdown, a touchdown run by
Antonio Carbonaro and a Zech touchdown run in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a defensive touchdown in the second quarter, NHS was up 28-7 at the half.
The Golden Eagles grew their lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. Naples scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Zech.
With the win NHS extended its winning streak to five games. Naples defeated IMG Academy 21-14 last week.
Zech played well for the Golden Eagles in the victory. The junior quarterback ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 14 touchdowns on the season.
Bayside's only touchdown came on a 2-yard run by Greg Miclisse in the first quarter.
Led by
Tyler Byrd, Naples went into the matchup giving up only 14.7 points per game. The seven points that the Bears ended with were well below their average of 27.5 coming into the game.
The loss was the third in a row for Bayside.
