Deshaun Phillips and Joshua McGowen provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Harnett Central. The longest such play in 4A Conference 15 this season, the connection resulted in 59 yards.
Pine Forest's Myron Fleming recorded the longest rushing play in the league this season in his game against Grays Creek last week. Fleming's team topped the Bears as he sprinted for 67 yards on the play and finished with 128 in all.
Overhills's dynamic duo of Phillips and McGowen proved to be unstoppable against the Trojans, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Phillips threw for 344 yards and 4 touchdowns and McGowen had 120 yards receiving. Julio Martinez helped Overhills' passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 94 yards.
The Jaguars' dynamic duo of Phillips and McGowen proved tough for Harnett Central to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
McGowen was the best wideout in the league this week as Overhills beat Dave Thomas' team.
Eric Carter was the most successful running back in 4A Conference 15 this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 192 yards as Jack Britt topped the Trojans. Teammate Quinton Murphy added to the ground attack by rushing for 18 yards.
Phillips put up the best numbers in passing as the Jaguars topped Harnett Central.
Overhills' Phillips and McGowen have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-5 quarterback Phillips has thrown for 889 yards this season, while McGowen has 11 catches for 283 yards. The Buccaneers' Carter leads the league in rushing yards with 543.
Seventy-First added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Lumberton, 30-29. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Falcons.
