The Hamilton Wildcats will be home for the holidays to greet the First Assembly Christian Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses dating back to last season for Hamilton and five for First Assembly Christian.
Hamilton struggled with assists on Tuesday (Bluff City had 15 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Hamilton fell to Bluff City 53-48. While losing is never fun, Hamilton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while Bluff City is ranked 142nd).
Despite the loss, Hamilton saw an underclassman step up: Amare Boothe dropped a double-double on 38 points and 13 rebounds. Boothe scored a full 79.2% of Hamilton's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, First Assembly Christian's 18-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a serious blow against Whitehaven on Friday, falling 57-23. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points First Assembly Christian has scored all season.
Hamilton's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for First Assembly Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
