Basketball Recap: Somerset Academy Key Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

Somerset Academy Key won the last time they faced Highlands Christian, and Kemsy Ogala did his part to make sure it happened again. The Somerset Academy Key Lions claimed a resounding 96-62 victory over the Highlands Christian Knights thanks in part to Ogala, who went 13 of 20 on his way to 29 points along with eight assists and eight boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Shamar Petigny, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 20 points in addition to six boards and five assists. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

When it comes to explaining why Highlands Christian lost on Tuesday, don't look at Angel Scomparin. Despite the final result, he went 11 of 21 on his way to 28 points. That was a full 45.2% of Highlands Christian's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aydin Crawford, who put up ten points and three steals.

Somerset Academy Key is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Highlands Christian, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.
