Larkin made up a huge gap compared to their last game against St. Edward, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Royals put the hurt on the Green Wave with a sharp 11-5 win on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Royals considering their two-run performance the match before.

Antonio Ventura spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Michael Hammond, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Miguel Saavedra also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Larkin's victory bumped their record up to 2-10. As for St. Edward, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Coming up, Larkin will host Ridgewood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Edward, they will head out on the road to take on Chicago Hope Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The last four games Chicago Hope Academy has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
