Lincoln is 1-8 against Ponderosa since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Lincoln Fighting Zebras will head out on the road to face off against the Ponderosa Bruins at 7:30 p.m. Ponderosa took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lincoln, who comes in off a win.
Lincoln posted their biggest victory since December 2, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 83-58 margin over Oakmont. Given Lincoln's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while Oakmont is ranked 727th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ponderosa suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of West Park by a score of 51-49.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Marco Moorman, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Keenan Patterson, who scored four points along with 14 rebounds.
Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Ponderosa, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
Lincoln came up short against Ponderosa in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 72-65. Thankfully for Lincoln, Ethan Boness (who scored 21 points along with five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
