The Anadarko Warriors will square off against the Kingfisher Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Anadarko came up short against Plainview on Thursday, falling 49-28. The Warriors have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their defeat, Anadarko saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Napoleon Camp, who picked up 142 receiving yards and one score, was perhaps the best of all. Camp also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making four total tackles and defending two passes.
Meanwhile, while Kingfisher put up plenty of points on Thursday, the same can't be said for North Rock Creek. The Yellowjackets took their game with ease, bagging a 34-0 victory over the Cougars. Considering the Yellowjackets have won four contests by more than 32 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Anadarko better keep an eye on Jackson Willbanks. He was instrumental in Kingfisher's win, picking up 59 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Willbanks didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles and defended one pass.
Kingfisher didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited North Rock Creek to a completion percentage of just 31.6%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Willbanks, Izak Oaks, and Carter Stephenson, who each logged one passes deflected. Kingfisher has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.63 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.63 in their last three games.
Kingfisher didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Kasen Blair, Brett Calamateo, and Kaden Cline picked up one apiece.
The win made it two in a row for Kingfisher and bumps their season record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.0 points over those games. As for Anadarko, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
Anadarko suffered a grim 31-6 defeat to Kingfisher in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more football content.
