The Oak Mountain Academy Warriors came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past St. George 42-39. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Oak Mountain Academy also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oak Mountain Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jeb Harper, who scored eight points along with 17 rebounds and two steals. Harper also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Caleb Beepathsing, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Oak Mountain Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for St. George's, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Oak Mountain Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Flint River Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. As for St. George's, they will head out on the road to face off against Oak Mountain Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Oak Mountain Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
