Crosspoint and Puget Sound Adventist are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Crosspoint Warriors just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Puget Sound Adventist Sharks at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Crosspoint has six straight wins, Puget Sound Adventist has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
In what's become a running theme this season, Crosspoint gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They blew past Rainier Christian 62-6 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-3.
Crosspoint can attribute much of their success to Riya Tobosa, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, and Momoyo Iwata, who scored 11 points along with six assists and four steals. Tobosa has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Ajanovic, who scored six points along with two steals.
Puget Sound Adventist suffered their biggest loss since December 11, 2023 on Monday. They took a serious blow against Sound Christian, falling 45-11. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Puget Sound Adventist in their matchups with Sound Christian: they've now lost five in a row.
Crosspoint's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 40.55 points. As for Puget Sound Adventist, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
Everything went Crosspoint's way against Puget Sound Adventist when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as Crosspoint made off with a 52-26 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crosspoint since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
