Hawthorne Math & Science Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Roland Essah, who scored 24 points. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for him. Troy Stuart was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Geffen Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Hawthorne Math & Science Academy, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Geffen Academy will head out on the road to face off against Avalon at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday.
