It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but South Delta had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lumberton Panthers 78-47. The Bulldogs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Amarion Sanders was his usual excellent self, going 7-for-14 en route to 21 points and five assists. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Leroy Lindsey was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 14 points and six assists.
South Delta has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-14 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points over those games. As for Lumberton, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
Looking ahead, South Delta will face off against Velma Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Velma Jackson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully South Delta likes a good challenge. Lumberton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
