The Ponca Indians were the 56-21 winner over the Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Ponca fell just short of Hartington-Newcastle by a score of 38-35.
Ponca's lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Emerson Ehlers, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 13 rebounds. Aix Hughes was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 5 steals.
Ponca's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Hartington-Newcastle, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
