After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wake Forest, Panther Creek was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Cary Imps with a sharp 15-3 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Catamounts also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.
Jessica Burk made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Burk was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Panther Creek got a massive performance out of Hannah Welborn, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The dominant performance gave Welborn a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassidy Robinson, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Panther Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cary only posted an OBP of .304.
