It was a good run, but UMS-Wright Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the St. Paul's Episcopal Saints by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since February 14th.

Andy Purvis was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of UMS-Wright Prep's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 7-8 when he doesn't).

UMS-Wright Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for St. Paul's Episcopal, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-4.
