The Midlothian Heritage Jaguars came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Joshua with points to spare, taking the game 56-38. Given Midlothian Heritage's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while Joshua is ranked 431st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ivy Preusser continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Batty, who scored 11 points.
Midlothian Heritage pushed their record up to 18-9 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Joshua, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-12.
Midlothian Heritage will head out on the road to face off against Midlothian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Joshua, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mansfield Summit at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Mansfield Summit has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1.
