The Hamburg Hawks lost against the Antietam Mountaineers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Hamburg was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to Antietam. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hamburg in their matchups with Antietam: they've now lost six in a row.
Antietam was led to victory by Julious Williams and AJ Schiefly. Williams scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four blocks, while Schiefly scored 17 points along with three steals. Schiefly hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Denzel Severino, who scored six points along with two steals.
Hamburg bumped their record down to 3-12 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Antietam, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Hamburg will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Panther Valley at 12:00 p.m. Hopefully Panther Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five last Saturday. As for Antietam, they will head out on the road to face off against Owen J. Roberts at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Owen J. Roberts is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
