The Logan Wildcats will head out to face off against the Independence Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Logan has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Logan is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Cabell Midland, who was ranked first at the time (Logan was ranked seventh). The Wildcats fell just short of the Knights by a score of 6-5 on Monday. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Myleigh Adkins spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on 13 hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Emilee Mullins was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with two RBI. Ashlin Brumfield was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Independence got the win against Liberty on Monday by a conclusive 13-5. Considering the Patriots have won 14 games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Independence also let their pitcher toss all six innings played and she was also dialed-in: Kenzie Pierce gave up three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Pierce.
On the hitting side, Independence got a massive performance out of Kassidy Bradbury, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Bradbury has posted since back in March. Emma Simpson also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Independence kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.
Independence has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8 runs. As for Logan, their loss dropped their record down to 16-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Logan hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Independence struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Logan skirted past Independence 6-5 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
