After six games on the road, Wabasha-Kellogg is heading back home. They will take on the United South Central Rebels at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Wabasha-Kellogg lost to St. Charles on the road by a decisive 44-29 margin.
Despite the loss, Wabasha-Kellogg had strong showings from Brielle Adams, who scored 17 points, and Mackenzie Paddock, who scored two points along with 13 rebounds and five assists.
Even though they lost, Wabasha-Kellogg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. This was only their 14th loss (out of 17 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Meanwhile, United South Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 80-47 loss at the hands of Maple River. While losing is never fun, United South Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 340th, while Maple River is ranked 113th).
Wabasha-Kellogg's loss dropped their record down to 3-20. As for United South Central, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
