The Halls Red Devils lost against the Powell Panthers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Halls ended up on the wrong side of a rough 60-35 walloping at the hands of Powell. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Halls has scored all season.
Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jarrell Chandler, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Chandler grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Comparato, who scored seven points.
Halls' loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Powell, their win bumped their record up to 20-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Halls and Knoxville Central will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Halls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Powell, they will head out on the road to face off against Oak Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 17 matchups -- so hopefully Powell likes a good challenge.
