Softball Recap: Oceanside Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clairemont, Oceanside was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Foothill Knights.

Oceanside let Seaven Fuimaono and Lexi Pantoja run wild. Fuimaono went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double, while Pantoja got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Pantoja a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Larsen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Oceanside lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more home runs.

Oceanside's record is now 7-5. As for Foothill, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Oceanside will venture away from home to take on Carlsbad at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Foothill, they will head out to face off against El Camino at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Knights are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
