Baseball Recap: Lexington Comes Up Short

The Lexington Minutemen came up short against the Trenton Bulldogs on Monday, falling 14-4.

Braxton Emerson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Izac Huffman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Lexington has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season. As for Trenton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-11.

Coming up, Lexington will square off against Carrollton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Minutemen's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Trenton has already played their next matchup (against Meadville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
