The Sierra Linda Bulldogs were the 54-51 winner over the Desert Edge Scorpions when they last played one another back in November of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. Sierra Linda took a serious blow against Desert Edge on Friday, falling 61-30. Sierra Linda has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Desert Edge had a senior duo take command as Aysja Ward scored 18 points and Anaira Ortiz-Reyes scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jitzabeth Hielo Miles , who scored 9 points.
Sierra Linda's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Desert Edge, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Sierra Linda is on the road again on Saturday and play against Copper Canyon at 10:30 a.m. on November 25th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Copper Canyon is ranked 85th, while Sierra Linda is ranked 92nd). As for Desert Edge, they will head out on the road to face off against Tucson High Magnet School at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
