Pagosa Springs won the last time they faced Salida and Colton Lucero did his part to make sure it happened again. The Pirates simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Spartans 57-8 with plenty of help from Lucero, who rushed for 234 yards and five scores on only eight carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 133 rushing yards.

With the victory, Pagosa Springs broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3. As for Salida, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
