The Whitney Wildcats will be home for the holidays to greet the Life Oak Cliff Lions at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Whitney earned a 43-34 win over Hico.
Meanwhile, Life Oak Cliff had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Village Tech 42-13 at home.
Life Oak Cliff's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mariyah Odom led the charge by scoring 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Essence Faith, who scored ten points.
Whitney's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-7. As for Life Oak Cliff, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season.
