It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Upperman Bees had no problem doing just that on Friday. They skirted past Macon County 17-14. Upperman's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Bronzden Chaffin threw for 112 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Branson Turnbow was his top target, picking up 52 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Ethan Palk rushed for 94 yards.
Upperman's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.4 points per game. As for Macon County, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2.
Upperman will head out on the road to face off against Greeneville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greeneville is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Macon County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
