The San Elizario Eagles had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Fabens with a sharp 41-17 win on Friday. The victory was just what San Elizario needed coming off of a 39-17 loss in their prior game.
San Elizario was led to victory by walker Jayden and Maya Contreras. Jayden dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while Contreras dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Contreras has scored at least a third of San Elizario's points.
San Elizario's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Fabens, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
San Elizario will head out on the road to take on Clint at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fabens will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mountain View at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th.
