Sam Zimmerman made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Zoe Rodriguez was a standout: she scored four runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Alyssa Nava was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
Ann Sobrato always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Monterey County only posted an OBP of .211.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Palma, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against North Monterey County on Monday as Palma made off with a 7-1 victory.
Sophia Marquez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Analysia Rocha was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Rocha is crushing it when it comes to RBI: she's brought in at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Reese Amaral, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.
Ann Sobrato's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Palma, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Ann Sobrato has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 13.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Palma struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
