District 10 Region 3 AA recap September 24, 2013
Reynolds was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in District 10 Region 3 AA. The Raiders vanquished Saegertown 52-7 earlier in the week.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Greenville beat Sharon 21-16,. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Matt Voytik threw for 171 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 12-16 with 1 interception.
James Taylor was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 9 carries, he ran for 120 yards as the Panthers bested the Tigers. Trey Reagle also contributed to the rushing game with 38 yards on the ground.
Houpt was the best wideout in District 10 Region 3 AA this week as Brian Herrick's team beat Sharon. Houpt racked up 6 receptions for 131 yards.
Voytik put up the best numbers in passing as Hickory topped Grove City. Voytik's favorite target this week was Davon Tindall, who caught 4 passes for 86 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Voytik of the Hornets is the league leader in passing yards this season with 501. He has also thrown 9 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Houpt. The Greenville star has 14 catches for 289 yards.
The Trojans are in first place, while the Eagles are in fourth place.
Wilmington Area took down Titusville 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
