Baseball Game Preview: Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners vs. Bonanza Bengals

The Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners will square off against the Bonanza Bengals at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Southeast Career Tech will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Southeast Career Tech will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Clark on Thursday. The Roadrunners came out on top in a nail-biter against the Chargers, sneaking past 11-9.

Briggs Barlow looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). He is becoming a predictor of Southeast Career Tech's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 8-9 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tiernon Wolf, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Southeast Career Tech is 9-1 when Wolf posts two or more runs, but 7-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Toren Wolf, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Bonanza's offense. They fell just short of Eldorado by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The Bengals' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Southeast Career Tech pushed their record up to 16-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Bonanza, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.

Southeast Career Tech couldn't quite get it done against Bonanza when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 9-5. Can the Roadrunners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
