Softball Recap: Monday's Win Is Eagleton College & Career Academy's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Eagleton College & Career Academy took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Greenback, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Royals had just enough and edged out the Cherokees 8-7 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Royals have posted since May 6, 2024.

Karli Brabson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Karleigh Baker was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Graci Fenstemaker was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Eagleton College & Career Academy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-12-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Greenback, they moved to 6-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Eagleton College & Career Academy will head out to face off against William Blount at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenback does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
