Basketball Recap: Fort Bend Clements Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

Fort Bend Travis typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Fort Bend Clements proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-49 win over the Fort Bend Travis Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rangers have posted since January 23, 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Bend Clements to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aziz Olajuwon, who went 9 for 21 on his way to 22 points. The matchup was Olajuwon's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Benjamin Oyewole was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

Fort Bend Clements smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Fort Bend Clements' win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-10. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Fort Bend Travis, their loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 27-3.

As for Fort Bend Travis, they will welcome Fort Bend Hightower at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Bend Hightower knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Fort Bend Travis likes a good challenge.
