 Hammond's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Mandeville, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record  this season.
 Hammond will look to defend their home field  on Saturday against Ponchatoula at 1:30  p.m. Ponchatoula's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6  runs per game  this season, so Hammond's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mandeville, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Covington at 1:30  p.m.  on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
