Despite the loss, Roanoke Catholic saw an underclassman step up: Demarcus Brown scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Brown scored a full 35.3% of Roanoke Catholic's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jayden Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Roanoke Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Auburn, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Roanoke Catholic and William Byrd will face off at 2:30 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. William Byrd presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Roanoke Catholic in Virginia (William Byrd is ranked 73rd, while Roanoke Catholic is ranked 245th).
