Baseball Recap: Ambridge Comes Up Short

Ambridge dropped their record down to 8-6-1 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 11-1 to the Blackhawk Cougars. The Bridgers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Ambridge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Mason, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

As for Blackhawk, their win bumped their record up to 7-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by eight runs or more this season.

On Blackhawk's side, the team relied heavily on Luca Dilonardo, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave Dilonardo a new career-high. Stephen Knallay also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Ambridge will challenge rival Beaver at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Blackhawk is set to take on their familiar foe North Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
