Baseball Recap: Palm Beach Central Comes Up Short

Palm Beach Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 7-2 to the Jackson County Panthers.

Palm Beach Central got a good showing from Charlie Houd, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Houd has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Palm Beach Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabrian Diaz, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Palm Beach Central's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Jackson County, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palm Beach Central will venture away from home to challenge Palm Beach Gardens at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Broncos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gators have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Jackson County, they will take on Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
