The Sacred Heart Valkyries put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Seneca for the full four quarters, racking up a 85-15 victory at home. Considering Sacred Heart has won six contests by more than 19 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Sacred Heart's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reagan Bender, who scored 11 points along with four steals. The match was Bender's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was ZaKiyah Johnson, who scored seven points.
Sacred Heart pushed their record up to 8-0 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.5 points per game. As for Seneca, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Sacred Heart will take on Xavier College Prep in a holiday battle at 9:00 a.m. on Monday at. As for Seneca, they will head out on the road to face off against Portland Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Portland Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
