Conrad Weiser is 0-2 against Lampeter-Strasburg since November of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Conrad Weiser Scouts will look to defend their home field against the Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. Conrad Weiser will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 326th, while Lampeter-Strasburg is ranked 64th).
Last Saturday, Conrad Weiser suffered a rough 35-14 loss at the hands of Wyomissing. Conrad Weiser was down 35-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the loss, Conrad Weiser got a solid performance out of Sevon Parham, who rushed for 140 yards.
Meanwhile, Lampeter-Strasburg had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past Eastern Lebanon County, posting a 49-0 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Lampeter-Strasburg, who have now won seven matches by 24 points or more so far this season.
Lampeter-Strasburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trenton Wagner led the charge by throwing for 221 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of John Mellinger, who rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns.
Conrad Weiser has traveled a rocky road this season, as they've lost six of their first eight matches, which leaves them at a 2-6 record this season. As for Lampeter-Strasburg, their win was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-1.
Conrad Weiser was dealt a bruising 51-17 defeat at the hands of Lampeter-Strasburg when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Conrad Weiser, Hunter Hildenbrand (who picked up 115 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
