Make it nine blowout wins for the Southern Durham Spartans this season. They claimed a resounding 67-26 win over J.F. Webb on the road. Winning may never get old, but Southern Durham sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Southern Durham was led to victory by Rah?shea Christopher and Briana Hughes. Christopher dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Hughes scored 22 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Hughes hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliyah Herndon, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Southern Durham's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for J.F. Webb, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Southern Durham will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Durham School of the Arts will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 510th, while the Spartans are ranked 144th). As for J.F. Webb, they will head out on the road to challenge the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. South Granville is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
