The Wickliffe Blue Devils will challenge the Madison Blue Streaks at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Wickliffe's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Cardinal as they made off with a 22-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Leigha Blazetic made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Mackayla Gazdak was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lorelai Nichols, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Wickliffe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .744. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cardinal only posted an OBP of .176.
Madison let Geneva stack five runs on them in the seventh inning on Thursday but luckily Madison prevailed anyway. The Blue Streaks came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles, sneaking past 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Streaks have posted since May 16, 2024.
Kara Mekulsia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Addy Behm, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Natalie Best was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Madison's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Wickliffe, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Wickliffe hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .476. However, it's not like Madison struggles in that department as they've averaged .406. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
