Softball Recap: Somers Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Somers came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over the Carmel Rams. Considering the Tuskers have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Somers' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Carmel, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.

Somers wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 1-0 win against Tappan Zee on the 24th. Carmel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
