Butte Valley has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Surprise Valley Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Butte Valley suffered their biggest loss since November 28, 2023 last Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Hayfork, falling 68-34.
Meanwhile, Surprise Valley earned a 43-33 victory over Big Valley on Thursday. The victory was just what Surprise Valley needed coming off of a 55-34 defeat in their prior game.
It was another big night for Casey Grove, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Surprise Valley's points. Andrew Eichstadt was another key contributor, scoring five points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Butte Valley's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-6. As for Surprise Valley, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7.
Butte Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Surprise Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 50-46 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Grove, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds.
