The Enka Jets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They slipped by North Buncombe 89-88. The win was just what Enka needed coming off of a 70-40 defeat in their prior game.
Leading Enka to victory were Logan Trantham and Sam Waddell. Trantham scored 25 points along with seven rebounds, while Waddell scored 35 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Waddell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lawson Mcclure, who scored nine points along with two steals.
The victory got Enka back to even at 7-7. As for North Buncombe, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.
Enka won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against T.C. Roberson at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (T.C. Roberson is ranked 254th, while Enka is ranked 271st). As for North Buncombe, they will head out on the road to face off against Erwin at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Erwin is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
