Will Wendeborn looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
At the plate, Zach Perry was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Rylan Posener also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Cactus Shadows put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their undefeated season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Silo a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Carter Brown made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
In other pitching news, Cash Duley looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Scully, who scored three runs while going 1-for-2. Henry Verhamme was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
Rock Canyon's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Cactus Shadows, their record now sits at 7-0-1.
Wednesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Rock Canyon has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .443. However, it's not like Cactus Shadows struggles in that department as they've averaged .476. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
