Blaise Meylemans was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Meanwhile, Moreno Valley beat Lakewood 9-6 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.
A. Vasquez looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, JJ Vazquez was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of E. Zendejas, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Moreno Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.
