After losing to the Plainfield North Tigers the last time they met, the West Aurora Blackhawks decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. West Aurora came out on top against Plainfield North by a score of 49-38 on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given West Aurora's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 465th, while Plainfield North is ranked 229th).
West Aurora was led to victory by Harmony Rush and Syncere Williams. Rush scored 8 points along with 12 rebounds, while Williams scored 15 points. Savannah Pearson was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
The last time West Aurora lost on the road was back last Tuesday. Having now won three straight away contests, they've pushed their record up to 2-6. As for Plainfield North, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
West Aurora will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Charles East at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Charles East is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games. As for Plainfield North, they will head out on the road to face off against Yorkville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
