Quaker Valley hasn't had much luck against Beaver recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Quakers will be playing at home against the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Quaker Valley has given up an average of 38.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Quaker Valley is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Central Valley on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Quakers took a blow against the Warriors, falling 63-21. The Quakers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-0.
Despite the defeat, Quaker Valley had strong showings from Rex Fatur, who rushed for 76 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries, and Ty Popowich, who rushed for 39 yards and one TD. Atticus Barr got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Beaver fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against North Catholic on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 49-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans.
Quaker Valley will need to focus on slowing down Jonah Justice, one of several Beaver players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 160 yards and one score, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. With that strong performance, Justice is now averaging an impressive 105.9 rushing yards per game. Another rusher making a difference was Avery Scales, who gained 84 total yards and two touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Beaver's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was Bryan Adams with two.
Quaker Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Beaver, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Quaker Valley took a serious blow against Beaver when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 51-19. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Quakers were down 51-6.
