Pinecrest came tearing into  Wednesday's  matchup with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged out the Purnell Swett Rams  5-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Pinecrest got a great performance from  Taylor Graves as he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. Graves has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits any time he's  pitched this season.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Liam Dutton, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Seth Norris, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Pinecrest pushed their record up to 7-2 with the  victory, which was their third straight  at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Purnell Swett,  with the  defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-5.
 Looking ahead, Pinecrest will be playing in front of their home fans against Southern Lee  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The last three games Pinecrest has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Purnell Swett, they will venture away from home to  challenge Lumberton  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
