Lampasas is 0-1 against Davenport since October of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lampasas Badgers will be playing at home against the Davenport Wolves at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Lampasas didn't have too much trouble with Taylor on the road as they won 43-24. Given Lampasas' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 199th, while Taylor is ranked 455th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Davenport had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They breezed by Canyon Lake at home to the tune of 70-13. The result was nothing new for Davenport, who have now won four matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Davenport to victory, but perhaps none more so than Triston Hamlin, who threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.2% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Falcone, who rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Their wins bumped Lampasas to 6-1 and Davenport to 5-2.
Lampasas might still be hurting after the 55-34 defeat they got from Davenport when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Lampasas, Shastin Golden (who rushed for 189 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
